Hebrew Names in the Book of Mormon is a scholarly article by John A. Tvedtnes that was presented at the Thirteenth World Congress of Jewish Studies, Jerusalem, August 2001. It nicely summarizes some of the interesting aspects of Book of Mormon names and possible Hebraic roots. One of my favorite sections of this paper deals with confirmations from modern discoveries of ancient documents that some of the names introduced in the Book of Mormon names actually were used anciently. I just have to say THANK YOU for posting this!!! What an awesome article. As a toddler mom, I don’t have much time to read and do this sort of research on my own, and it is SO nice to be able to find and pick up happy tidbits! Thanks again!
I got a 404 from a couple of suffixed garbage characters in the URL. Might want to fix that.
Jeff,
Nice post. It’s my understanding that Bro. Tvedtnes has two Masters degrees, but no doctorate. You referred to him as “Dr. John A. Tvedtnes .”
Thanks for the corrections!
