Can you guess why I like “Judgment Day” as a title for this photo? (Click to enlarge.)
The name was suggested by my wife after I discussed some aspects of the photo. The snapshot was taken near Grand Island, New York, just a few miles away from Niagara Falls, as we were driving from the Falls to the Palmyra area earlier this week.

It seems we’ve taken similar travels in the past few weeks.
My guess is that the title is in reference to the parable of the 10 talents. “Cash receipts” meaning that we will give an accounting of what we did with those things given to us of the Lord. The parable uses money to illustrate these things. The bridge represents our passage from mortality to our eternal state. Am I close?
Yeah, pretty close. I also like how one bridge seems to rise up into the clouds, while the other one drops down to somewhere else. “Toll bridge” is the sign over the bridge. Well, there is a day of judgment – but don’t mistake judgment as a denial of grace.
And I don’t think there is any need to keep those tithing receipts, except for IRS audits.
I’m not sure how I missed the viewbook link before. You’ve got some excellent work there. I wish there were some way to comment on the photos, but that doesn’t appear to be the goal of viewbook. I really like the shot in the snow covered cemetery with the six crosses, and their shadows. The light makes the shot, it seems almost warm compared to the otherwise cold, stark, backdrop of the cemetery. Almost as if to say there’s more to death than the grave. Well done.
