Feeling beaten up by the weather of life? Sometimes the storms we must brave are by design, intended to strengthen and even nourish us.
Faith and patience can help us cope, even for those more violent and damaging storms that were not created by a gentle Gardener’s hand. But don’t be surprised at how the Lord can help us grow even then.
Jeff,
I agree wholeheartedly with you on this. I once heard a song many years ago, and the only words I can remember are from the opening and a strand of the chorus. Maybe someone out there has heard the song and can fill in the rest of the lyrics:
Little flowers never worry, they just find a place to grow.
So, let it rain, let it rain, let it pour,
Let trouble come knockin' at my door.
And, that's all I can remember. But, it really speaks to the sovereignty of God and His desire to grow us–no matter what it takes.
So, thanks for sharing these beautiful thoughts and phots, Jeff. God bless you in all you do.
Peace,
Jack
Guess what? I finally got smart and went online and googled the song. Here are the lyrics.
LITTLE FLOWERS
Little flowers never worry
When the wind begins to blow
And they never, never cry
When the rains began to pour
Though its wet and though so cold
Soon the sun will shine again
And they smile unto the world
for the beauty to behold
"So let it rain, let it rain,
let it fall…
Let all troubles keep knocking on my door..
If we learn the right from wrong,
It will help to make us strong.."
When the cloud begins to gather
And the wind begins to blow
Little flowers don't complain
Though they're tossing to and fro
I guess they've learned the secret
That only little flowers know
If it never, never rains
They will never, never grow..
Lord please help me learn the secret
That only little flowers know
If it never, never rains,
Then I'l never, never grow..
Thanks, Jack! Appreciate the help and the sharing.
Wow, I don't know how I found this post, but it was needed. Thanks.
